4 Logger Mentees share their experience

Thinking about signing up for the Matched Mentorship Program? Wondering about the benefits? Here’s what 4 Logger mentees say they got out of the program:

Lea Cook ’27 | Business Leadership Major

This mentorship program was extremely helpful for me!

First, being able to pick my top potential mentors out of a group of highly talented alums helped me feel comfortable going into my first meeting with my mentor.

Together we set up monthly meetings that worked with my schedule and discussed a variety of topics, from resume building to work life balance, that significantly increased my confidence in becoming a young professional.

Sophia Pivnik ’23 | Psychology; Chinese Language & Culture

Talking to someone with years of professional work experience in a field I was interested in really helped me get through the job search process. My mentor provided me with relevant resources as well as advised me on tasks as I encountered them.

Whether helping me tailor my resume for different job descriptions, reviewing my cover letters, or preparing for job interviews, getting one-on-one advice was a significant step up from doing research on my own. They can’t do the work for you, but that support goes a long way!

Tristan Pfleger ’27 | Art History; English

The mentorship program helped me to actualize my ambitions… with a mentor who was capable, intelligent, and full of wisdom and experience.

Savannah Gossard ’24 | Psychology

The mentorship-matched program allowed me to see how I could use the skills and degree that I have gained at Puget Sound in settings that I would not have even considered.

My mentor spent the time to get to know me and my passions which led her to connect me to people she knew, so that I could grow my network.

I was hesitant to sign up, but I am so happy I did!

Whether you’re inspired to level up skills, get encouragement, build your professional network, or learn about a career or industry, the matched mentorship program is a great way to start!

If you participate in the program, you will:

  • Meet with your mentor at least once per month. We provide guided conversation topics if you’re not sure where to start!
  • Attend an information session that’s designed to set you up for success as a mentee.
  • View mentor profiles and indicate your preferred matches.
  • Be matched with one Logger alum for the full school year.
