ABOUT CHAPLAIN CANDIDATES
The Chaplain Candidate program allows students to explore Navy Chaplaincy while they start or complete their graduate theological degree.
With CCPO, you’ll be commissioned as a Navy Officer while you finish your theological studies at an accredited seminary or graduate school. And through the program, you’ll attend Officer School, Chaplain School, and have the option to receive on-the-job training under the direct supervision of a Navy Chaplain. It’s your chance to see Navy Chaplains at work and to experience the challenges and rewards of working in the diverse situations the Navy provides without any obligation or contact for military service.
Once you have completed the requirements, a Selection Board at the Chief of Chaplains Office will determine whether you meet the requirements to become a member of the Navy Chaplain Corps. Completing the Navy Chaplain Candidate Program(CCPO) qualifies you for significant pay advantages once you enter Active Duty or the Navy Reserves.
