Position Description:
Under the supervision of the responsible head coach, the Summer Camp Counselor provides constant supervision and instruction for physical education campers during sessions, in the dining halls and to and from sessions and meals. Fosters learning in a fun, sports-oriented atmosphere where children receive positive feedback for their accomplishments and recognition for their participation.
Essential Functions:
- Assume leadership and guidance of campers ages 6-17 in the athletic facilities and at meals.
- Assist with camper check-in and check-out.
- Keep accountability of about 10 campers at all times.
Minimum Requirements (candidates must possess these requirements in order to be hired into this position):
- High school and/or college sports experience, past work experience supervising children in camp counseling is preferred.
- Must have the ability to enforce camp rules and regulations while supervising campers ages 6-17.
- Must have one year of college education and be in good academic standing (study in education or physical education preferred).
- Ability to pass a pre-placement background check.
- Have a fun and positive attitude.
Hours per week: 32 hours
