Position Description:

The Bystander Revolution Against Violence (BRAVe) program exists to create and facilitate programming for the campus community to address issues of sexuality, healthy relationships, sexual assault prevention, and gender. As one of two Program Specialists, this position will play a pivotal role in shaping the content and learning opportunities for different student groups and other gatherings that would benefit from these programs.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, along with the Assistant Director of Student Support, programs and initiatives that promote holistic student wellness as well as a healthy consent culture on campus
  • Present, approximately 2 times a month, to various student organizations and at educational events about the topics of sexuality, health relationships, and sexual violence prevention.
  • Utilize Instagram to post educational materials and advertisements for programs and initiatives.
  • Create educational materials, such as brochures, for tabling, programs, and social media regarding resources, processes, and general education on violence prevention and healthy relationships.
  • Collaborate with student leaders across campus to promote student wellness and consent programming initiatives.
  • Participate in training sessions and weekly staff meetings.

Minimum Requirements (candidates must possess these requirements in order to be hired into this position):

  • Willingness to identify new opportunities for learning and student engagement across campus
  • Ability to work on a collaborative team to meet shared goals
  • Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community
  • Ability to stay organized in individual tasks and assist with office-wide organization
  • Experience with creating and facilitating programming or events is preferred

Hours per week: 9 hours
