Position Description:
Work in various areas within Dining Services (which may include Servery, Wok station, Tortilla station, deli station, dish room, grill, full fare). Prepare food, set up service areas, clean, serve food and beverages, other duties as required. Actively monitors and responds to Slack communications during shifts and engages in staff engagement. Provides support and assists with larger departmental events across campus, i.e. Festival of Trees. See the application form for more detailed information.
Minimum Requirements (candidates must possess these requirements in order to be hired into this position):
Must have or be willing to obtain a Pierce County Food Handler’s Permit prior to start date. Neat, clean appearance, well organized work habits and the practice of a courteous attitude toward fellow co-workers as well as the customer. Must be able to follow instructions and the policies and procedures of proper storage and handling of related food items. Must be able to work in a restricted area in view of the public with temperature extremes while standing or walking for extended periods of time. Able to lift and transport supplies. A commitment to possess or develop excellent customer relations skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers. Able to work effectively and closely with both student and regular staff. Able to monitor proper temperatures of food products. Ability and willingness to perform routine cleaning of service areas and equipment to maintain a sanitary and safe work environment. Basic math and writing skills.

Hours per week: 12 hours
Student staff are not eligible for telework. Students must work in person from a designated work location on campus other than a residence.
