Position Description:
The Summer Event Assistant is key to daily management of camps and conferences at the University of Puget Sound. This position will assist with coordinating overnight program preparations, managing facilities, and building guest relations.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Serve as the primary contact for 3-5 overnight programs
- Gather program information from planners and clearly communicate this information to relevant campus departments
- Serve as an information resource for all guests in the planning stage and during campus stay
- Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: email, answering phones, and using Google Suite applications.
- Maintain campus facilities through delivery of linen, staffing event spaces, room set up, running audio visual equipment and other duties as assigned
- Assist Catering Services team as needed.
Minimum Requirements (candidates must possess these requirements in order to be hired into this position):
- Basic computer skills (i.e. MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom)
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to details and ability to multi-task
- Position requires flexible scheduling and availability at various hours, seven days a week (5-day average work week)
- Ability to lift and carry between 30-50 lbs.
Compensation:
- Hourly wage (on-call duty hours paid)
- Summer Housing in designated summer residence at no cost
- Work week meal compensation
This Position:
- Has access to information and keys as needed to operate summer conference business needs
Hours per week: 35 hours
