Position Description:
The Production Manager will coordinate and execute technical production of all events taking place in the Concert Hall that require sound reinforcement, projection, live broadcast, or recording and are responsible for the operation and oversight of all sound and video equipment.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Meet weekly with the production manager team and ensure the staffing schedule is covered.
- Coordinate lighting and event needs with Lead Stage Manager
- Serve as a liaison with Media Services, checking out and setting up equipment that is not permanently housed in the Concert Hall but needed on a regular basis
- Set up and monitor microphones for all live events: concerts, lectures, demonstrations, workshops, dress rehearsals, soundchecks
- Set up and execute live sound reinforcement with portable, in-house multi-channel sound mixing board
- During rehearsals, set levels for recordings through the 24-track recording board controlling seven microphones
- During performance events, monitor recording levels on the sound board and video recording in Medial, and, if needed, monitor the separate microphone used for announcements
- Program and operate light board during live events
- Update School of Music LIVE page to reflect upcoming events
- Set and operate four-camera live video system for broadcast of School of Music events
- Coordinate the live streaming of School of Music performances from Kilworth Chapel
- Maintain video recordings archives
- Other duties as needed
Minimum Requirements (candidates must possess these requirements in order to be hired into this position):
Candidates must be able to explain and/or demonstrate that they possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- One year of experience as a technical production manager or similar experience
- Comfort and experience running sound on a 32+ channel board similar to the Allen & Heath SQ7
- Experience with the Digital lighting board
- Experience and proficiency with Pro Tools/Lenux
- Comfortable with a wide variety of types of microphones, projection and other sound reinforcement equipment
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
Hours per week: 9 hours
