The Department of Transportation – Division of Transportation System Development, Office of Business Opportunity & Equity Compliance is looking to hire 6 Labor Compliance Specialist interns for Summer 2025!
The positions will be full-time in summer 2025, with potential flexible hours during the fall semester. (appointment will not exceed 1 year or 1,039 hours)
Locations/Remote and Office Hybrid: Superior – 2 interns, Madison – 2 interns and Waukesha – 1 intern, La Crosse – 1 intern.
Under close and progressing to limited supervision, this Intern position is responsible for assisting the Regional Senior Labor Compliance Specialist with the administration of the Construction Contracts. This includes assisting with processing certified payrolls and monitoring the progress and administration of contracts. This position also provides administrative support to the statewide compliance team.
Provide support to the Compliance Specialist
- Assist Compliance Specialist with processing of Certified Payrolls
- Perform basic audits on contractor payroll reports
- Verify wage rates in Civil Rights and Compliance System (CRCS)
- Evaluate and record performance and compliance of OJT hours through review of payroll reports on construction contracts.
Provide administrative support to the Statewide Compliance Team
- Staff support to compliance workgroups
- Correspondence as needed
- Record creation, and other administrative support
- Special projects as assigned
Internships are full-time during the summer and can continue part-time during the school year.
