Learn how to schedule career advising appointments, find events that match your interests, and develop your Handshake profile to maximize your job and internship search.

Learn how to develop a professional social media presence, while maximizing LinkedIn to your advantage at any stage of the career journey. Depending on your needs, this workshop can focus on developing an initial LinkedIn profile or on how to make the most of the site’s network-building and job-searching features.

This session provides you with big-picture tips and resources to help you make your best impression in a job/internship search. Specific topics include: resumes, interviewing, professional wardrobe, and your social media presence.

This interactive program introduces you to the concept of networking for the purpose of career exploration and job searching. Learn strategies for reaching out to alumni, recruiters, and other professionals.

Launching a job or internship search? This overview provides you with strategies you can use to navigate job postings on Handshake and other job boards, as well as to utilize your networking connections to find jobs that may not be advertised broadly.

This session can be customized to the audience as a guide for what they can be doing to prepare, right now. Want to focus on the needs of first-year students, such as career or major exploration, assessments, and resume building? Hoping to prime sophomores for internship searches and career fair attendance? Prepping juniors and seniors to launch a job search or to use LinkedIn for networking? Tell us about your class/group members and what you think might be helpful.

Do you have interviews on the horizon? Learn how to prepare, what to expect on the day of the interview, and how to follow up. Practice various aspects of interviewing with your classmates to help hone your skills. Specific topics include the typical structure of an interview and behavioral-style questions.

Learn how to research salaries for specific roles and industries. The session will also cover how to compare job offers based on an individual’s professional values and preferences.
