Mathematics Teacher (Secondary ECT) – Enfield

Salary: £37,870 per annum – Outer London M1
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

ConnECT is seeking a motivated Mathematics Teacher (Secondary ECT) to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Enfield.
The mathematics department has a strong culture of shared planning and practical support for new teachers. Pupils are encouraged to approach mathematics with confidence, curiosity and resilience, while teachers use clear modelling and effective questioning to make challenging concepts accessible.
This role offers a strong foundation for an ECT who wants to develop subject expertise and build confident classroom practice.
The role
You will teach mathematics across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities at KS5 as your experience develops. You will deliver lessons covering number, algebra, geometry, statistics and problem-solving.
Key responsibilities
• Plan and teach clear, engaging mathematics lessons.
• Prepare pupils for GCSE mathematics assessments.
• Use data and assessment to identify gaps in learning.
• Adapt teaching for pupils with SEN and different ability levels.
• Build confidence among pupils who find mathematics challenging.
• Maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations.
• Contribute to revision programmes and departmental planning.
Requirements
• QTS achieved or expected by September 2026.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in mathematics or a related discipline.
• Recent secondary mathematics teaching experience.
• Secure knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
• The ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Strong organisation and positive behaviour-management skills.
