Position Description:
The DES Student Office Assistant is key to daily support of the DES Office and Bookkeeping Coordinator, DES Supervisors and Managers. The position will assist with administrative tasks, special projects, operate the office register for cash and credit card transactions, and build guest relations with faculty, staff, students and community visitors.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
• Serve as the primary contact for the Logger Card / Dining and Event Services Office
• Serve as an information resource for all faculty, staff, students and visitors
• Assist the DES Bookkeeper with Daily Deposit Activities and Invoice Coding
• Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: email, answering phones, and using Google Suite applications.
• Use Bartender software to print food/product labels for the Diner as needed
• Use the DES nametag program to create and print nametags for DES staff and student team
• Collect mail and invoices each shift and distribute to DES outlets
• Maintain and assist with ordering office supplies
Minimum Requirements (candidates must possess these requirements in order to be hired into this position):
• Helps maintain a pleasant and welcoming office environment
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the DES staff and student team
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to details and ability to multi-task
• Basic computer skills (Google Suite, Zoom)
• Hold (or able to obtain) a Pierce County Food Handlers Permit
• Ability to lift and transport supplies.
Compensation:
• Hourly wage
• Weekly shift dining dollar meal compensation
Hours per week: 12 hours/week
