Alumni: Career Advising

Looking to meet with CES?

Already graduated but hoping to meet with a Career Advisor? CES gladly offers appointments to recent graduates, ideally no more than 1-2 years post-graduation. You can schedule through our career platform, Handshake, which allows current students and alumni to search for jobs and internships, book appointments with our Career Advisors, register for events, and more.

To activate your (free) alumni account, visit PugetSound.JoinHandshake.com and click “No Account? Sign up here!” in the upper right corner. You can use your personal email when signing up!

Once your profile is set up, we’ll be prompted to review and approve your account, and then you can navigate to the Career Center tab and you’ll see an option for scheduling an appointment.

Still have a student Handshake account?

If you graduated within the past 6 months, you still have access to your Handshake account through your Puget Sound Single Sign-On credentials. You can convert your student Handshake account to an alumni account that you will continue to have access to (rather than making a new one) by this process:

  • Click your circle-shaped profile icon on the top right corner of the page. In the dropdown menu, click “Settings.”
  • On the Settings page, scroll down to “Emails” and click “Add another Email.”
  • Enter your personal email and click the “Add” button to the right of the text-box.
  • Check your personal email account to confirm your email.
  • Then, in that same Settings page on Handshake, click the three dots to the right of your personal email and in the dropdown, click “Make Primary.”

Looking for advising further in your career?

CES advisors are best equipped to serve students who are pursuing part-time jobs, internships, and entry-level positions and we may also be of service to recent alumni still in pursuit of entry-level roles. For anyone further along in your career, we recommend you start by perusing the Career and Skill Development resources (see the tab at the top of the page) available to Logger students, including these guides for resumes, cover letters, and more.

Alumni with more professional experience may be better served by other career coaching services. Some resources to consider include:
